Is There a Ghost in My Cup at Ogawa Coffee?

Ogawa Coffee was founded in Kyoto, Japan in 1952 with one robust, wildly popular shop. But when it came time to pick its first international location, the answer was simple: Boston. Opened in May 2015, Ogawa Coffee’s is “dedicated to promoting, preserving and evolving exceptional coffee culture to be handed off to generations to come.” With the onslaught of college students back for the fall semester, Ogawa is attempting to make drinking lattes even more fun this season.

For the entire month of October, Ogawa Coffee is giving the 2010 World Latte Art Champion, Haruna Murayama, blank slates in the form of lattes. This master is not only training the Boston baristas but is also creating Halloween magic in your latte. From the 1st to the 28th, baristas will add a ghost, pumpkin or any other delightful fright upon request. Fortunately, there is no additional cost for the skillful treat.

Ogawa’s prices for lattes and cappuccinos range from $4 to $6. The shop is open until 7 p.m. nightly at 10 Milk St. in Downtown Crossing.
