How To Celebrate Halloween Like a Sophisticated Adult

Photo by Adam Centamore on Flickr. Ever wondered if there’s more to Halloween than tripping up the street swinging a bucket demanding candy?

While trick-or-treating is the quintessential pastime of the holiday, there are some tongue-tingling Halloween events at Formaggio Kitchen's Annex this week that will satisfy a more sophisticated palette. Meredith Rottersman, the general manager and classroom coordinator, says the lists of parties will make for one supernaturally fun shindig.

“Formaggio Kitchen’s Halloween classes are a festive, interactive way to get to know our products and staff in a more intimate environment that allows attendees to explore specific interests," she says. "Our instructors love to help you leave with knowledge about the stories behind our products and exciting ways to use them in your home."

The only thing macabre here is the amount of time it could take to devour all the demonic delicacies!

Formaggio is hosting a cider tasting on Monday, October 27 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket and pour cascades of sundry fruit ciders into fancy glasses. Plus, Formaggio’s own domestic cheese buyer is laying out a variety of some of the best European cheeses around to snack on. A light, savory delight before the impending sugar coma is an absolute must!

However, if you’re really a monstrous cheese monger and need more than just a nibble, Formaggio’s got you covered again! On Wednesday, the 29th (6:30-8:30 p.m.), a cheese tour will be held showcasing soon-to-be ravaged washed-rind cheeses and “blue” cheeses in every shade from America and Europe. Drinks will be provided!

Let’s all fete and feast as grown-ups before busting out the animal ears and turning back into kids! Formaggio is located at 67 Smith Place in Cambridge.
