'It Should Cost A Billion To Look This Good': Beyonce's Best Renaissance Tour Outfits
It’s officially Renaissance week! On Friday, Beyonce’s professionally filmed tour documentary was released to theaters all over the world. From the film, it's evident: that her elaborate, luxurious, costume ensembles were just as much a part of the show experience as her stunning live vocals or mesmerizing visuals were. Below are a few of my favorite looks she flaunted on the Renaissance runway.
#1. Atlanta, Georgia
One of my favorite looks was Beyoncé’s Cavalli outfit in Atlanta, Georgia. This outfit pulls out all the stops. The rich, midnight blue flame color instantly won me over, paired with the intense diamond detailing and fiery fabric cuts. We obviously can't forget to mention the bejeweled cowboy hat, an iconic piece that fans would come to recreate, or the sparkling high-heeled boots. Everything about this look was on point and breathtaking.
#2. Amsterdam, Netherlands
A close runner-up has to be the look designed by Iris van Herpen and first worn at the Amsterdam, Netherlands show. Although minimalist in color, the ethereal sheer fabric, accented elevated collar, and silver detailing, all come together to create a divine celestial wardrobe that had me stunned. For me, the modest color scheme and simple hair and makeup serve as an ode to her effortless beauty and enchanting allure.
#3. East Rutherford, New Jersey
Third on the list is this captivating Jean Paul Gaultier ensemble displayed at the East Rutherford, New Jersey performance. The repetition and use of lines created a mesmerizing pattern that made her look absolutely stunning. Her glasses and headpiece paid homage to the futuristic aesthetic of the tour, resembling a flying saucer and a celestial eye look.
#4. London, United Kingdom
Next up is the iconic Mugler Bee outfit from the London, United Kingdom show from the very beginning of the tour. This became a fan favorite, as it represented her being the “Queen Bey” and her fans being a part of the “BeyHive.” Although there was some viral difficulty with her headpiece falling off while she was dancing, who else could wear a bee costume and make it look this good? The headpiece is so dramatic and theatrical that it is just too iconic to leave off the list.
#5. East Rutherford, New Jersey
The Renaissance vision was prominent in this next look from Alexander McQueen. Worn at the East Rutherford, New Jersey concert, this outfit was everything Renaissance. The silver cape and accents honored the tour’s chrome aesthetic, while the horse on her body referenced the horse she is seen riding on the album’s cover.
#6. Houston, Texas
This wouldn't be a complete list without the red Loewe look from her Houston, Texas show. Most notable for being worn in the song “Heated,” Beyonce stunted this fan-favorite outfit in four different colors at multiple shows. Fans were quick to recreate it, and – although it may not be the most flashy – it holds a lot of meaning to the fans.
Beyoncé's Renaissance tour showcased not only her incredible vocals, but also a dazzling array of meticulously curated and iconic fashion moments. From the rich and fiery blue Cavalli ensemble to the Mugler Bee, her wardrobe was not just a collection of costumes; it was a testament to her artistry and the indelible mark she leaves on the worlds of music and fashion.
Until next Monday,
Leo
