How To Add Your Birthstone Into Your Fall Wardrobe

The Fall 2020 runways were full of gorgeous jewel tones, including a full topaz gown by Christian Siriano and an amethyst colored suit by Max Mara. As we enter the Autumn months, jewel tones are expected to be trending. This means rich, bold tones that resemble the colors of gemstones like ruby, amethyst, emeralds, and more. These hues are vibrant and regal and make a stunning addition to any wardrobe. This fall, try incorporating your birthstone into your closet for a pop of color that is perfect for you!

January: Garnet

If you were born in January, your birthstone is garnet, a dark red or maroon gemstone. This warm color is true to autumn and looks great with neutrals like cream, grey, or black. Try a garnet-colored skirt or sweater for a festive fall outfit.

February: Amethyst

Amethyst is one of the world's most popular colored gems. It’s a vivid purple color, associated with royalty, bravery, and excellence that’s perfect to add as a statement piece to your outfit. Add a pop of purple with a cute bag or go full amethyst with a lavender dress.

March: Aquamarine

Aquamarine is a light blue-green color. Though bright turquoise may be more of a quintessential summer color, muted and darker tones carry right into fall. Pair a teal sweater with dark jeans or add a hint of aquamarine to your outfit with a turquoise manicure.

April: Diamond

Though the dream might be to deck yourself out in diamond jewelry, that’s probably not the most realistic. Aside from a diamond necklace, try adding a little sparkle to your wardrobe with a shiny pair of shoes or a statement sparkly top.

May: Emerald

June: Pearl

Of course, pearls can be added as a piece of jewelry, but the pearlescent white color translates into clothing amazingly as well. Make sure to have some basic ivory, white, or cream pieces in your closet.

July: Ruby

Ruby red is by all accounts a bold and captivating color. Go all out with a striking red dress or add a pop of color with a pair of iconic ruby heels.

August: Peridot

August’s birthstone is peridot, a lime green gemstone. Because it is such a strong color, you don’t need to overwhelm your outfit. Instead, pair this bright color with neutrals or add a surprise pop of color with Peridot inspired accessories or eyeshadow.

September: Sapphire

Sapphires are a gorgeous deep shade of blue. It’s a very luxe color, sure to make a statement no matter how you style it. A sapphire blue dress is one option that is sure to look stunning.

October: Opal

Most commonly, opal gemstones are white or cream-colored. If you were born in October, take this opportunity to assess the basics in your closet and make sure you have neutral colors to build off of.

November: Topaz

Topaz is a beautiful golden brown color that is perfect for fall. A topaz brown blazer or jacket is a chic choice to upgrade your closet as the weather starts to cool down.

December: Tanzanite

Tanzanite stones are a gorgeous blue-purple color. This is a great option to accessorize with, whether it be in the form of a cute tanzanite inspired clutch or a purple pair of shoes.
